The legendary Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings their spectacular holiday rock opera to Mohegan Sun Arena on November 30, 2025.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is an American rock band renowned for its theatrical fusion of symphonic music, progressive rock, and heavy metal. Founded in 1996 by producer Paul O’Neill in Tampa, Florida, TSO emerged from the members of the heavy metal band Savatage, including Jon Oliva and Al Pitrelli, with Robert Kinkel contributing as a key collaborator .

TSO is celebrated for its rock operas that blend original compositions with classic holiday themes. Their debut album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories (1996), introduced the iconic track “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” which has become a staple of their holiday performances . Subsequent albums like The Christmas Attic (1998), Beethoven’s Last Night (2000), and The Lost Christmas Eve (2004) continued this tradition, each offering a unique narrative experience.

TSO’s live shows are renowned for their elaborate productions, featuring synchronized lighting, pyrotechnics, and a blend of classical and rock elements. Concerts often include a mix of holiday-themed rock operas and classic rock covers, creating a dynamic and immersive experience . The band’s commitment to philanthropy is evident, with a portion of ticket sales donated to various charitable causes.

TSO’s innovative approach to music and performance has garnered a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. Their ability to blend genres and create compelling narratives has solidified their place in the realm of progressive rock and symphonic music. Despite the passing of founder Paul O’Neill in 2017, TSO continues to tour and produce music, honoring his vision and legacy .
