Lainey Wilson is an American country music singer and songwriter known for her distinctive Southern style, powerful voice, and honest storytelling. Born on May 19, 1992, in Baskin, Louisiana, Wilson grew up in a small farming community and was introduced to country music at an early age. Inspired by artists such as Dolly Parton, Lee Ann Womack, and George Strait, she began writing songs and performing while she was still a child.

After graduating high school, Wilson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2011 to pursue a career in country music. Her path to success was gradual. She spent years writing songs, performing, and trying to establish herself in Nashville before signing with a record label and releasing her music to a wider audience. Her breakthrough came with the song ” Things a Man Oughta Know,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and helped introduce her to mainstream country audiences.
