Alison Krauss is an acclaimed American bluegrass-country singer, fiddler, and producer, celebrated for her ethereal voice, masterful musicianship, and genre-defining contributions to acoustic music. Born on July 23, 1971, in Decatur, Illinois, Krauss began performing at a young age and quickly became recognized as a prodigy in bluegrass music.

She gained prominence with her band Union Station, producing a string of critically acclaimed albums that blend bluegrass, country, and Americana. Krauss has won over 30 Grammy Awards, making her one of the most decorated female artists in Grammy history, and she has contributed to landmark projects such as the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, which played a major role in bringing bluegrass and roots music to mainstream audiences.

Known for her emotive vocals, delicate fiddle playing, and timeless songs, Krauss has collaborated with artists across genres, including Robert Plant (Raising Sand), and continues to be a defining figure in contemporary roots and country music.
