Boyz II Men are more than just a singing group. Their story is one of friendship, ambition, incredible talent, and the power of music to touch people’s hearts.

Boyz II Men began in Philadelphia in 1985, when a group of young friends started singing together while attending high school. They originally performed under the name Unique Attraction before changing their name to Boyz II Men.

The original group consisted of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman, and Michael McCary. They worked hard to develop their distinctive sound, blending R&B, soul, gospel influences, and intricate vocal harmonies.

Their big break came when they attracted the attention of Michael Bivins of New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe, who helped them secure a recording opportunity.

In the early 1990s, Boyz II Men became one of the biggest musical acts in the world. Their 1992 hit End of the Road became a defining song of the era, followed by romantic classics such as I’ll Make Love to You and On Bended Knee.

Their collaboration with Mariah Carey, One Sweet Day, became one of the most successful songs in Billboard Hot 100 history, spending 16 consecutive weeks at number one when it was released in 1995.

What made the group special was how their voices worked together. Rather than relying on one singer alone, they created a rich, layered sound that could be tender, joyful, or deeply emotional.
