AC/DC is embarking on a “Power Up” tour in 2025, kicking off on April 26 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney, in 1973. Their music has been variously described as hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal, although the band calls it simply “rock and roll“. They are cited as a formative influence on the new wave of British heavy metal bands. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 and have sold over 200 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling artists of all time. 

Several musicians have credited AC/DC for reasserting hard rock’s popularity after it had ceded mainstream attention to other musical genres in the late 1970s. Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave noted of Back in Black‘s release: “Disco was huge and punk and new wave were ascendant, and along came this AC/DC record which just destroyed everybody. It put hard rock music back on the throne, where it belongs!”
